On 21–22 January 2026, the HIVEMIND consortium met in Berlin for its M12 General Assembly, hosted by DFKI. The meeting took place at a particularly relevant moment for the project, as HIVEMIND enters its second year and begins preparing for the M18 reporting milestone. Partners joined both in person and remotely to review progress so far, align on the technical direction, and confirm priorities for the months ahead.

Much of the discussion focused on consolidating the multi-agent architecture that lies at the core of HIVEMIND. The consortium reviewed the current state of the base framework, including agent roles, behaviours and interaction patterns across the software development lifecycle. Updates across several work packages showed tangible progress, from early agent workflows and integration services to training data pipelines, human feedback mechanisms and validation approaches. The conclusions of WP1 provided a shared reference point, helping align user requirements, KPIs and agent scopes, and setting clear expectations for the transition from definition to implementation.

Beyond the technical advances, the General Assembly also looked ahead to impact and sustainability. Partners aligned on dissemination and communication activities for the coming months, including publications, events and growing collaboration with sister projects. Licensing options were openly discussed, with the common objective of ensuring that HIVEMIND remains open, reusable and exploitable, while fitting within the European open-source ecosystem.
